BIOMETRIC SECURITY

A recent article on the CRN website discusses biometric security and questions if it is the ‘ultimate’ in security.

Currently, like many of FFT’s security fibre optic sensors, biometrics are integrated into systems in order to improve protection and performance. FFT’s Secure Fence™ and Secure Zone™ systems can interface and activate CCTV systems, lighting, gates, email, plus a broad range of external devices and systems and are commonly also used to protect communication data.

SECURITY BREACH AT MAJOR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT RAISES QUESTIONS

Airport security has long been a concern, in particular since 9/11 in 2001. Whilst security has visibly increased in the areas of passenger and baggage screening, this is not necessarily the case with perimeter security. Securing airports with effective perimeter security measures is a challenge. Airport perimeters are typically miles long, making it difficult and costly to effectively monitor all areas at once.

FUTURE FIBRE TECHNOLOGIES US TEAM GETS CVI-CERTIFIED

The US team at Future Fibre Technologies Inc (FFT), well known developers, manufacturers and installers of fiber-optic intrusion detection systems, has completed the US Department of Homeland Security’s Counter-Terrorism Vulnerability Information (CVI) Certification process.
