FFT SHIPS ITS ONE MILLIONTH METRE OF FIBRE OPTIC INTRUSION DETECTION

August 1st 2008

Later this month, FFT expects to ship its one millionth metre of fibre optic intrusion detection, which will be on its way to play a vitally important part in protecting a buried crude oil pipeline in South America, in one of the most testing environments in the world.

This is a significant milestone for FFT, which has gained international repute for its unique and highly effective intrusion detection solutions.

As our valued clients would know, intrusion detection solutions including Secure Fence, Secure Link and Secure Pipe, provide protection to a host of highly sensitive sites, many of which are subject to extremely harsh conditions: ranging from Washington DC; through the Middle East and central Australia where temperatures regularly soar above 50 degrees Celsius (122° F); and the former Soviet Union where the snow only thaws for three months of the year.

Many associated with the company believe that FFT’s history in the sensing industry rather than the security industry is the reason behind FFT’s intrinsically different and advanced product architecture.

Certainly, FFT’s products have been embraced by companies and organizations looking for high security perimeter applications, pipeline monitoring and communications/data network security, with hundreds of systems being deployed globally.

Applications range from Government & Military installations in the USA through to the oil and gas industry, including the recent installation at seven LNG facilities and several major sea ports located in the Middle East.
