SECURITY SITE ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS

February 10th 2010

Each perimeter security installation site is unique with its own set of environmental factors that should be considered when designing a system and performing the installation. Environmental factors can include climate, flora and fauna and human generated background noise.

Furthermore, the actual fence that the system is installed on must be of solid construction, as excessive movement can cause nuisance alarms to varying degrees on any perimeter intrusion detection system. The site environment also needs to be divided into zones for easy identification of intrusion position and actual point of entry. This ensures that CCTV surveillance and security staff response times are optimised.
