FFT signs multi-year maintenance agreement with Sydney Trains

  • New five-year service level agreement valued at approx. AU$500K.
  • Agreement with Sydney Trains continues decade long customer relationship.
  • FFT intrusion technology solution of choice for train operators globally.

Future Fibre Technologies (FFT), world leaders in fibre optic sensing technologies, has signed a new five-year maintenance agreement with Sydney Trains valued at approximately AU$500K.

FFT’s perimeter intrusion detection technology has been protecting Sydney Trains’ maintenance centres and stabling yards against unauthorised intrusions, theft and vandalism for more than a decade. These sites not only provide vital storage for critical maintenance equipment, but house much of the city’s rolling stock including the inter-urban train fleet.

Ava Risk Group CEO, Mal Maginnis commented: “We are pleased to extend our relationship with Sydney Trains with this new service level agreement. The long-term relationships we enjoy with many of our customers is a testament to FFT’s market leading solutions and the support team who work to optimise system performance day in, day out. Agreements of this type are designed to meet the unique needs of each customer and provide peace of mind that their facilities and infrastructure are protected to the highest level of operational effectiveness.”

FFT offers customers a range of service level agreements to support on-site and remote monitoring and management of systems which includes secure encrypted connection, rapid response to requests, real-time support with FFT technical experts and early recognition of sub-optimal performance.

In addition to Sydney Trains, transport operators in Europe, South America and Southeast Asia use FFT’s detection technology to help prevent trespassing, vandalism and theft, as well as identify human activity or rock falls on and around tracks, which may cause a disruption to services.
